A fine day out on the Skye Ridge with Mike Lates of Skye Guides and Simon. The weather, although overcast, stayed dry 99% of the time and was better than expected. Still plenty of snow patches, which although they do not cause problems underfoot can be used to brew up if you are carrying a small stove.

Check out the detail of Finlay Wild’s record scamper along the most difficult mountain ridge in the UK. World class effort Finlay.
Well done Finlay Wild. 2 hours 59 minutes 22 seconds for the Black Cuillin Traverse. Incredible record time. Watch the short video on YouTube.
A grand weekend away paddling, sailing and camping with family and friends amongst the sandy coves of Arisaig (Back of Keppoch). The rock climbing should now be pretty good and dry. Off to Barra next week, so fingers crossed for this spell of warm settled weather to continue. No doubt anyone visiting the Isle of Skye will be enjoying these conditions. Don’t forget the floppy hat and sun screen though.
Thanks again to Spike Sellers for this photo taken today on the Isle of Skye, looking south towards the Inner Hebrides (Rum and Eigg)
Thanks to Spike Sellers for this photo. He was working for West Coast Mountain Guides on Skye recently. The Great Stone Shoot is best ascended on a full snow cover, but at the moment it is in between, and will be slippery and awkward as usual!
This week Spike Sellers has been working for Bruce Poll, the new owner of West Coast Mountain Guides up on the Black Cuillin Ridge, where there is still plenty of snow. Anyone looking for adventures on the ridge should contact Bruce Poll on 01397 719120 or email@example.com
